Reject gives a new path to overlooked stories and voices.
We want writers to shake the dust off of the ideas that may have been rejected for publication, but refuse to lie down quietly.
We are big believers that stories need the right time, space, and moment to be heard.
We're a space special-made for rejects.
And we're an online and print magazine proudly based in Indianapolis! We're thinking we'll be a quarterly production, but it may depend on funds (click below to donate to our Kickstarter page).
Our website is mostly for submissions today, but we're hoping to eventually include a space for writing inspiration and encouragement and a roundup of other places to submit.

Reject is for anyone who enjoys a good story.
Who is a bit of a rebel and revolutionary at heart. Who has a belief in themselves and also a belief in a bit of magic and kismet.
Who believes there’s a space for all stories and writers, if not now, then some other time.
Submissions Are Closed
To make sure we can read every submission thoughtfully and write a personal note to every writer who submitted, we're closing submissions earlier than we anticipated.
It's just the right thing to do to give each story the focus and care it deserves.
But we have flash fiction and poetry contests in our future as well as other ways we're exploring to get out as many amazing, formerly rejected stories out as possible.
